Too far gone
no looking back
I made a wrong turn
I got off track
lost in the wild
alone and abandoned
thrown to the vultures
I am stranded
I lay my head down
too tired to fight
is this the end?
is this my plight?
tossed out and disregarded
those who used to love me
have now departed
yet even as the elements destroy my youth
I still bare witness to this truth
I have loved hard, deep and true
so if I sleep tonight and never wake
I’ll know it was all worth it
for love’s sake
That was awesome 🙂

I reblogged a post by Kelly’s Wandering Mind, and wanted to pass along a section of the Whitman poem that was in that video:
“…O ME! O life!… of the questions of these recurring;
Of the endless trains of the faithless—of cities fill’d with the foolish;
Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?)
Of eyes that vainly crave the light—of the objects mean—of the struggle ever renew’d;
Of the poor results of all—of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me; 5
Of the empty and useless years of the rest—with the rest me intertwined;
The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life?
Answer.
That you are here—that life exists, and identity;
That the powerful play goes on, and you will contribute a verse.”
Living for love is a noble thing.
